Role Overview
- Job Title: Senior System Administrator (Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure)
- Department: IT Infrastructure
- Reason for Hiring: Team expansion due to workload and ongoing cloud transformation
- Reports to: Senior IT Leadership (internal)
- Team Size: ~4 IT admins + external partners
- Vacancies: 1
Location & Working Model
- Primary Location: Rendsburg, Germany
- Remote / Hybrid / On-Site: Primarily on-site; ~1 day/week home office (currently due to small team size); flexibility in exceptional personal situations
- Travel Requirements: Minimal
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and evolve hybrid IT infrastructure (Cloud + On-Prem)
- Drive migration from on-premise systems to Microsoft Cloud (M365, Azure)
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Entra ID, Intune, etc.)
- Maintain and develop infrastructure (VMware, backup systems, servers)
- Coordinate external service providers and internal stakeholders
- Ensure security, compliance, and system reliability
- Take ownership of infrastructure decisions and improvements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Haves
- Strong experience with Microsoft Cloud stack (M365, Entra ID, Azure)
- Solid understanding of on-prem infrastructure (e.g., Exchange, AD, GPOs)
- Experience in hybrid environments (Cloud + On-Prem)
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell / scripting
- Ability to work as a generalist across multiple systems
- German: C1 level
- English: technical working proficiency
- Strong ownership mindset and willingness to take responsibility
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Intune, SharePoint Online
- Knowledge of VMware / virtualization
- Exposure to backup & security systems
- Experience in industrial / manufacturing environments
